Anchored in Tradition, Inspired by the Future: Welcome Ines!

We’re thrilled to welcome Ines as the official brand ambassador of the Museu Maritimo. With a deep appreciation for Azorean heritage and a passion for storytelling, she embodies the spirit of Santo Amaro’s seafaring legacy.

Curious who Ines is and what inspires her? So were we. We asked her a few fun and thoughtful questions about her life, her love for the sea, and why she’s excited to be part of our journey.

Where are you from?

I am from Pico Island, in the Azores.

What are some of your passions? 

My passions are playing music (I play the transverse flute); being close to nature.

What are some of your goals? 

My goals in life are to be happy and keep my head held high, to be a good primary school

teacher and preschool educator; to take my dream trips; to be able to help my parents in the

future and to start a family.

What do you like to do in the summer? 

In summer, I like to: enjoy every moment; be near the sea listening to the different sounds of

nature; have snacks with my family; and work and earn some money of my own.

What motivated you to work at Museu Maritimo? 

What motivated me to accept the job at the Santo Amaro Maritime Museum was the opportunity to share the history of our small village with people from other places.

What I enjoy most about working at the museum is showing visitors that building a boat is no longer what it used to be and telling them a little about the history of this small village, showing them the connection between the sea and the land.
